IaaS FAQs

We get asked questions about the Azzaron family of services regularly.  Here are some of the most frequent.

  • What is IaaS? +

IaaS stands for Infrastructure as a Service.  Azzaron's products deliver value beyond just hosted software or dedicated hardware.  Our products encompass the entire IT experience.

  • What does "Purpose-built" mean? +

To be able to offer the best service at the best price, Azzaron's infrastructure offerings are a fusion of technology and service targeted at specific market segments.  We have taken our extensive experience in veterinary IT and construction IT to develop platforms around the needs of those industries in dvmCLOUD and blueprintCLOUD, respectively.  Having an understanding of the tools and technology helps Azzaron provide a seamless user experience.

continuumCLOUD takes a more general business approach, but specifically addresses the needs of back office in professional service environments.

  • Is my data secure? +

Data and network security is of the upmost importance for Azzaron.  Our datacenters meet or exceed most compliance regulations for the industries we serve.  Hardware is accessible only through biometric devices and a variety of other Internet perimeter security methods are employed to help keep customers safe.

Unless your company employs retinal scans for equipment access, a fire supression system, and Enterprise-grade firewall hardware, you data is more secure at the data center than in your office.

  • What is Business Standard Support and Busines Critical Support? +

Business Critical Support means that Azzaron will support your business 24 hours a day for all infrastructure-related service-affecting emergencies.

Business Standard Support includes non-critical issues, like user account management, migration, and workflow support.

Non-critical support is handled during business hours.  Check the Support Site for current hours.

  • How does Prove IT Pricing work? +

Azzaron's unique Prove IT Pricing guarantee means that we will stand 100% behind the IaaS suite of products.  If you are not fully satisfied that these are the products for you, we will apply all of your provisioning costs towards an on-site implementation or boltBOX deployment.

  • What is the cloud availablity? +

Azzaron strives to have a maximum uptime across it's cloud infrastructure.  All of our systems are designed for redundancy, from processors to storage.  Occasionally, we will notify customers if downtime is required for  infrastructure upgrades or maintenance.

  • What kind of backups are available? +

Azzaron's infrastructure products include standard backup and archiving mechanisms included in the base per-user pricing.  Additional methods may be available for certain use cases.  Storage is always on redundant drives.

    • Files are stored on RAID6 arrays and backups are taken daily and include up to 10 revisions of every file.
    • Databases are store on RAID10 arrays and backups are taken daily and include 10 days worth of archives.
    • All email is stored in RAID10 on at least two servers simultaneously and backed up at least weekly for disaster recovery purposes.
  • Why do companies choose Azzaron? +

Azzaron brings personal service to infrastructure customers around the world.  Our robust network and one-on-one attention have attracted small businesses who need to make sure they have not only great technology, but the personnel to back it up.

  • How Is IaaS Priced? +

  • Can't I do all the same things myself and save money? +

Azzaron IaaS products bring together all the tools and expertise that companies need to be successful with IT.  Priced separately in a DIY (Do It Yourself) model typically ends up costing owners at least 20% more in IT management costs.

  • How is Azzaron able to include licensed Microsoft software? +

Azzaron is a member of the Microsoft Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA) which makes it possible to lease your business all Microsoft licenses on a monthly basis with no commit levels.  Need four users today and eight users next month?  No problem with month-to-month agreements.  SPLA keeps your practice in 100% license compliance without worrying about under-buying or over-buying resources ever again. Since the SPLA program is based on monthly commitments, it means you can always get the latest software without upgrade fees or installation charges.

  • What accounting software is included with my monthly pricing? +

Azzaron infrastructure products do not include accounting software.  The system is designed to take on your infrastructure load, but remains agnostic to the way your company actually operates.  We have customers running their own licensed versions of all the popular management, accounting, and estimating systems within our robust framework.  We meet the system requirements of nearly all business accounting and management database systems.
